Join all-round garden guru David as he shares his expertise in a range of seasonal workshops.

Every workshop includes lunch with David at the local pub, plus refreshments and homemade cake will be available throughout the day.

Cuttings And Critters: Summer Cuttings And Encouraging Wildlife

Thursday 13th July:

It is a real joy to watch wildlife in the garden and they bring many benefits too. There are lots of things we can do to encourage even more creatures and it doesn’t matter how big or small your garden is.

Join our day workshop with David and find out what you can do throughout the seasons to support wildlife.

From ponds, pruning and pollinators, to shelters, soil and seeds. The day will be full of advice, inspiration and ideas for all creatures great and small.

Friday 14th July:

Find out how to grow more of your favourite plants for free, by propagating summer cuttings.

David will explain softwood, semi-ripe and other types of cuttings, and you will be able to practise cutting and preparing material.

By the end of the day you will be able to identify suitable plants, know where to take a cutting and how to successfully grow it.

Preparing For Next Year: Spring Bulbs And Autumn Lawn Care

Tuesday 26th September:

Join David for an in-depth workshop dedicated to lovely spring bulbs.

From the differences between corms, bulbs and tubers, to making sure your bulbs flower year on year, the day will be packed full of information.

The workshop will include guidance on where to use bulbs in the garden, seasonal succession, container displays, lifting and dividing, feeding and potential problems.

Wednesday 27th September:

By the end of summer our lawns can be looking tired and in need of some attention.

Autumn is a great time to prepare them for the next year and David’s workshop will prove that having a great lawn isn’t difficult.

As well as seasonal advice on scarifying, spiking, feeding and repairing damage, David will also look ahead to spring lawn care.

Winter Interest: Seasonal Containers And Christmas Decorations From The Garden

Tuesday 7th November:

Get the most from your containers in winter with displays that are as colourful and eye-catching as their summer counterparts.

David will talk through the best plants for seasonal interest that can withstand our varied winter weather. He will also give advice on choosing the best containers, creating different effects and styles, compost, planting and aftercare.

Wednesday 8th November:

Learn how to decorate your home with plant material from the garden.

A fun and festive day making Christmas decorations with David, including wreaths, a table centre and tree decorations.

Find out which plants in the garden are best for cutting and arranging, and learn how to prepare them.

David will also talk about forcing plants for winter displays, and how to ensure your decorations last.
